Healing In Process.

I am sitting at my house in Boise. I can't talk. None of my friends or siblings are here. I am bored out of my mind! But... I am so blessed to be here and be with my parents in my lovely home. I digress from my purpose of this post.

I have been seriously encouraged by everyone. Thank you so much for all the kind words and prayers. I am confident that God has used many of you to speak to me. So thank you!

My beautiful roommate, Angelique, reminded me of a story that has given me so much hope and strengthened my faith. It is the story of Mark 8. In Mark 8, Jesus feeds the 4,000. Before this, in Mark 6, Jesus feeds the 5,000. After feeding the 4,000, Jesus proceeds to heal the blind man in two different stages.

Two different stages. That's what these stories represent. First Jesus feeds 5,000 but is not finished feeding His followers as He proceeds to feed 4,000. He doesn't heal the man with one quick touch like He usually does. He spits on his hands, touches the man's eyes, and the man is partially healed. He puts His hands on His eyes again and the man is completely healed.

Why doesn't Jesus feed just one time or heal the man once? Jesus did these things twice in order to convey the message that He is the Messiah. He used these two events to continue to teach the people what He was trying to get across. But Jesus did not fail. His mission was accomplished.

How does this relate to me? I am so encouraged by this story because I have faith that Jesus wants to heal me. I was not healed by surgery. I am being taught SO much through this trial. And I have faith that Jesus wants to heal me. I am clinging to these stories as my own story.

I am so confident that God wants to use this in my life for something amazing and for something that completely glorifies His name. What a beautiful truth. Please continue to pray this with me. Pray for this second step of my healing and that when I go to the doctor in January, she would be confounded by what has happened. Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for me!

"I’ve thrown myself headlong into your arms—
    I’m celebrating your rescue.
I’m singing at the top of my lungs,
I’m so full of answered prayers."
- Psalm 13:5-6 (Message Translation)
