Thankful.

When I look back to my life a year ago, I see that circumstances in my life are completely different. Like 180 degrees different. I think I can say pretty confidently that this past year has been the hardest of my life. I have encountered numerous painful trials which brought countless tears and heartache. But, looking back, I can see how much I have grown. I am such a different person than I was one year ago. And I am thankful.

Amazingly, I have been brought to a place of thankfulness. Even though I never would want to experience this past year again, I am so thankful that I have gone through what I have. And it is only the grace of Jesus that has brought me to a point where I can be thankful.

God was absolutely intentional with everything I have faced. Going through all the grief (literally) that I have the past year has brought me to a new, deeper level of trust and dependence on Him. I truly believe it would not have been achieved if it weren't for the numerous trials I have faced. Wow. That boggles my mind. And brings me so much thankfulness. Instead of wanting the blessings of Jesus, all I want is Him. I never could have said that a year ago. But because of all I have been through, I can say it with confidence.

I wish I could say that this string of trials has ended and that I have finally reached the peaceful valley after climbing an enormous mountain range. I am still climbing. Who knows how long I have to go. But I am so thankful for the mountains I have climbed and the mountains I have left to climb. Because from this past year I can testify to the beauty of trial. Yes you read that right. The beauty of trial.

Praise God for his abundant grace for without it I would not be able to say that. God is so good and I am overjoyed to see all the places He will take me. Please continue to pray for me as I finish climbing this mountain. God has promised me completion of this mountain --pray the completion would come now! I pray that through all of my heartache, God will bring forth beauty in others' lives. All glory be to Him!

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." - James 1:2-3
